Why you should start doing paid surveys on the go
There are roughly 20 million Americans that travel to work via carpool or public transportation, according to a 2011 study by the U.S. Census Bureau. For around 15 percent of those travelers, getting to work is an experience that lasts an hour or longer.
What do you do during that travel time? Do you look out the window of your subway car or bus? Do you make small talk with the passengers? How do you bide your time when you're traveling for such a long period and then do it all over again for the commute back?
For the savvy traveler, you might consider making a little money while you're on the go. Completing paid surveys via a mobile device, like a tablet or smartphone, can be the perfect way to use your commute time to put some extra cash in your pocket. But the potential to earn money on the go doesn't stop there.
Earning money online whenever there's time to kill
Think of all the different times you've had a little extra time on your hands away from home. Waiting for a dinner reservation, arriving too early for a get-together with friends, showing up ahead of time for an interview or a shift at work, spending hours on a plane or in an airport - these are all times you could use to fill out a few simple questions and earn some points for rewards or cash.
Oftentimes, paid online surveys take a matter of minutes to fill out - likely 15 minutes or less. Every time you have a few minutes to spare, you could be putting money in the bank using online surveys, and those little chunks of time can add up a lot over the course of weeks and months. You don't need to wait until you're home to answer a few questions online. Use those little everyday moments to your advantage.
Connecting is getting easier
For skeptics that think getting a WiFi connection is easier said than done, consider a few statistics provided by The Huffington Post.
- Smartphone users already spend an average of 60 minutes on their devices every day, and that shoots up to 90 minutes for iPhone users.
- Over the next three years, it's predicted that there will be at least 7 billion new WiFi-enabled devices.
- 71 percent of all mobile communication uses WiFi.
For many people, WiFi is almost constantly present, making surfing the Web free and easy. What's more, some of the most popularly visited locations have WiFi. Sports stadiums, hotels, airports, restaurants and even some cars are equipped with WiFi for any mobile user near enough to take advantage of. Don't expect that trend to change over time. As more people purchase high-tech gadgets, it's almost certain that the number of WiFi hotspots will expand in the future. That's good news for anyone making money online on the go.
