Predicting this year's Best Picture winner at the 2016 Oscars
The final nominees for this year's Academy Award for Best Picture have been revealed, and some big names are included among lesser-known films. "The Revenant" already won the Golden Globe for Best Picture, helped by an incredible performance by Leonardo DiCaprio, and many think it is the movie will help Leo finally land an Oscar.

"Mad Max: Fury Road"

Matt Damon stars in this highly intriguing sci-fi thriller. According to Variety, "The Martian" has a strong opportunity to walk away with the award for Best Picture.
Left behind by his fellow astronauts, Damon's character Mark Watney must survive in the desolate Martian landscape as NASA scientists and astronauts struggle to come up with a rescue plan.
This film has received rave reviews, IMDB reported. It stars Brie Larson as a mother who has been forced to raise her child as the captive of a deranged lunatic. The movie is painful and challenging but has earned nominations for Best Director as well as Best Picture.
"The Big Short"
This film is a long-shot to win the Academy Award, but it has still captured the attention of audiences across the country.
Prior to the 2008 economic melt down, a handful of individuals saw the writing on the wall and were able to predict how mortgage policies and frivolous speculation would doom the American economy. The movie is based on real events and sees stellar performances from Christian Bale and Steven Carell.
Based on the novel by Colm Tóibín, "Brooklyn" recounts the tale of Ellis, a young Irish immigrant, as she tries to establish herself in the U.S. during the 1950's. Ellis soon meets a handsome American man named Tony, before a family tragedy forces her to return to Ireland.
"Bridge of Spies"
Directed by Steven Spielberg, this film has won high praise from critics and award shows ,Variety reported. Although Spielberg was not nominated for Best Director, the film is a candidate for Best picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Score and Best Original Screenplay.
In the film, Tom Hanks plays a high-powered lawyer who is hired by the CIA to negotiate the release of an American spy during the Cold War.
According to Variety, this film has one of the best chances of winning the coveted Best Picture award at this year's Oscars.
