4 reasons working from home in the summer is the best
The sun is shining, the skies are a perfect blue and you're relaxing at home and making money online at the same time - what's not to like? Working from home in the summer is nothing short of magical for countless reasons. Whether it's because of the weather or the lower stress levels, it brings a smile to workers' faces across the country.
If you're not convinced yet, listen up. Here are four reasons why working from home in the summer is the best.
1. Working in the sunshine
Do you have a porch? Is there a park close by with WiFi access, or do you have a few big picture windows? If you said yes to any of those questions, then you can take advantage of those rays and work in the sun. It sure beats the harsh fluorescent lighting of an office. More than that, working outside could even improve your mood during the work day.
2. No more long Fridays
The bane of nearly every office worker's existence is the long Friday workday during the summer. It's so bad that some CEOs will cut the day short on Friday to improve morale and productivity, according to Fast Company. Unfortunately, that's still not the case in most workplaces.
The weekend is right in your reach, it's still sunny outside, but you have to stay late in the office. Some people might call that inconvenient. Others might call it torture.
Luckily, most individuals who work from home can get a jumpstart on the weekend. Not only do you save time because you don't have to commute home, some workers can even get to relaxing early by finishing their work ahead of time. If you get paid for taking surveys, you could head out at any time you like.
3. Higher productivity
In fact, some managers have found out that regular breaks and a little time off is the best recipe to increase summer productivity. Denise Blasevick, CEO of PR and advertising company The S3 Agency, told Fast Company that her employees look refreshed and actually work harder when they get a few breaks.
When you're working from home, you decide the breaks. Find what motivates you most and use it to your advantage.
4. Never commute in the heat again
Just walking from your car to the office can be a sweltering nightmare in a buttoned up tucked in shirt and pants. That inconvenience triples when you're using public transit or your car's air conditioner isn't the best. The heat and humidity makes every step of the commute uncomfortable, and that's how you're starting the work day.
On the other hand, you could just skip that commute. Stay in your air conditioned home, feel free to wear what you want and beat the heat as you work. How does it get any better than that?
